Oatmeal chocolate chip cookies

140 calories a cookie
- 3/4 cup rolled oats
- 1 cup whole-wheat flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup walnuts
Mix oatmeal, flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt in a small bowl. In a separate bowl, beat butter, add sugar, eggs and vanilla and beat until fluffy. Add dry ingredients and beat until well combined. Mix in chips (I used semi-sweet) and walnuts (or any other kind of nut). Bake at 350 degrees for 13-15 minutes.
This recipe makes about 24 cookies, but I doubled it, so I could make enough for a class and for my roommates.
